Our Tiny Tim..... at Christmas time

He is only 1.9 kgs ... and should not even be here yet.

Born just 4 weeks ago at 30 weeks and 1.2 kg ... his life is still so incredibly fragile...

... yet he was discharged to us from hospital ... under the false premise of a 'well baby'!!

Not so...

He is still so premature that he frequently forgets to breath ... a condition known as 'Apnoea of Prematurity' and, as he turns blue, and we stimulate him to breath again, we too hold our breath ...

Pray our Tiny Tim is strong enough to come through this ....

And then .... there are our other newborns  ....... all arriving within weeks of each other! Six in total!!

Abandoned, surrendered, trafficked, placed in the garbage.... they all have their own heart wrenching story ....  but they are now in 'gentle hands' ..... and they will be loved for the rest of their lives.

What never ceases to amaze me is that Charity, the executive director, deals with all this, whilst organizing and executing an amazing Christmas for the other 80 (give or take :)) children in her care! ... Like it's nothing extraordinary.

But it is!!!!

As is the love, the care and the dedication of all the caregiver, all the cooks, all the cleaners, all the office staff ... they make Gentle Hands a home!

Christmas at GH!!!

And pre-GH ... at home with my girl ... KokoKrunch [and coffee!!!], a couple of gifts and You tube Christmas carols ... starts the day off ... and at the [fairly] reasonable time of 7am ... I have trained her well hahahahaha (why wait till adolescence for sleep ins ;))

Every Christmas that I spend away from my family ... and there have been too many ... hurts ... especially this year ... yet to see the faces of our children as they open the beautiful presents that have been so generously donated ... there is no greater blessing!

My heart is full ... of Bea, of the beauty at Gentle Hands ... and of my family in England.

Special note: To Abbie .... thank you so very much for the best present I could ever start Christmas Day with .... a video of my family wishing me and Bea a Happy Christmas .... I was blown away!!!

For all those that read this post ... I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ... may your year be filled with much love, life and laughter.

... I continue to be forever thankful for your support, your love, and your prayers.

Blessings

Jo
